The following physicians and representatives serve on the joint Board of Managers for the St. Louis Physician Alliance & SLPA ACO, LLC.
The Board of Managers meets on a regular basis to direct the initiatives of the organization.
Scott Hardeman MD is a board-certified Otolaryngologist with Gateway ENT, a division of Sound Health Services. He sees adult and pediatric patients at offices in Creve Coeur and in Sunset Hills. Dr. Hardeman was instrumental in the creation of the St. Louis Physician Alliance and has served as the Chairman of the Board of Managers for the organization since its inception.

Lindsay Barth DPM is a board-certified Podiatrist and president and owner of Next Step Foot and Ankle Centers Inc with 14 offices throughout the metro area. He sees patients in Alton and in South County. Dr.Barth received his podiatric degree from the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa.

Robert Bell MD is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon with specialty training in hand and upper extremity surgery. He treats a wide range of hand and upper extremity issues including joint replacements for arthritis fractures and traumatic tendon injuries, nerve compression disorders, work injuries and sports injuries. He joined Orthopedic Associates in January 2016 after practicing in Texas for 20 years.
Dr. Bell attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. He completed his internship at the Medical College of Virginia followed by his Orthopedic Residency training at the University of Missouri-Kansas City affiliated hospitals. Bryan Burns DO is a board-certified Internist (primary care physician) at Esse Health – Comprehensive Primary Care Associates in South County. He earned his medical degree from Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa and completed his residency and internship at the former St. Johns Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis. Robert Curtin MD is a board-certified Internist (primary care physician) at Esse Health in South County at Southroads Internal Medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois in Urbana and completed his residency and internship at Southern Illinois University in Springfield.

Christopher Felling MD is a board-certified Anesthesiologist at Ballas Anesthesia where he’s practiced since 1998. He served as President of the practice for 4 years, Vice President for 2 years and has served on the Executive Committee since 2012. Dr. Felling is the current Medical Director of both St. Louis Surgical Center and Total Joint Center of St. Louis. He has served on the SLPA Board of Managers since 2014 and also serves as the chairman of the SLPA Credentialing Committee and as a member of the SLPA Technology Committee.

Erin Gardner, M.D., is a board-certified dermatologist, fellowship-trained in dermatologic and Mohs micrographic surgery. Dr. Gardner’s practice, Dermatology Specialists of St. Louis, is located on the Missouri Baptist campus with a satellite office in Sunset Hills.
Dr. Gardner interned at Barnes-Jewish Hospital for Washington University and completed his dermatology residency at Duke University, where he served as chief resident. He completed fellowship training at Methodist Hospital in Houston, studying advanced skin lesion treatments and Mohs micrographic surgery. Paul Hinton MD is double board-certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. He is the President of Hinton Healthcare Group, a multi-specialty private practice with multiple offices throughout the region, which he founded in 2009. He serves on the SLPA Board of Managers and has held numerous leadership positions at area hospitals and organizations.

George Hruza MD is a board-certified dermatologist and Mohs surgeon at United Skin Specialists in Chesterfield and serves as an Adjunct Professor of Dermatology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
He earned his medical degree from New York University at the top of his class and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Societies. He completed his dermatology residency at New York University Medical Center followed by a laser surgery fellowship at Harvard Medical School’s Wellman Laboratory for Photomedicine, as well as a Mohs and dermatologic surgery fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Steve Jacobson MD is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician at St. Louis Medical Clinic where he’s practiced since 2003. He served as President of the practice from 2005-2008. He has served on the SLPA Board of Managers and on the SLPA Finance Committee since 2016.
Dr Jacobson graduated Cum Laude from Rhodes College in Memphis with a BS in Chemical Biology. He received his MD from St Louis University and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Mayo Clinic Graduate School in Rochester MN in 1988.

Sean McLaughlin MD is a board-certified Internist (primary care physician) at Esse Health in North County. He earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri in Kansas City, MO and also completed his residency and internship there.

Anthony Margherita MD is a board-certified Physiatrist specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and sports medicine. He is the founder and medical director of West Count Spine and Sports Medicine. Dr. Margherita earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC and completed his residency at the University of California in Sacramento. He is very active in the community and has served as the Medical Director for the St. Louis Marathon for 20 years. He is a researcher, author and speaker at events across the nation.

Brett Winkeler MD is a board-certified Family Medicine physician at Rural Family Medicine Associates in Freeburg Illinois where he’s practiced for more than 10 years. He has a passion for patient quality and has been instrumental in ensuring that the practice’s EHR captures all of the required quality measure information. He serves as the ACO Medical Director for SLPA ACO and on the Board of Managers.

Chris Hartshorn currently serves as Market President, Midwest Region for United Surgical Partners (USPI). He has been overseeing the Midwest Region since 2007, and prior roles included Regional Vice President and Director of Development. Before joining USPI in 2003, Chris was with TenetCare, a division of Tenet Health System, where he was responsible for developing and opening outpatient imaging and surgery centers. He also served as Manager, Healthcare Practice for Deloitte Consulting where he provided financial analysis, operational improvement and contract analysis for various health care clients. He received his Masters of Health Administration from Saint Louis University and his undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas.
Dave Seifert is the Medicare beneficiary serving as a community representative to the SLPA Board of Managers. He is a partner at Alexander-Seifert Consulting Group and is the former CEO of St. Anthony’s Medical Center where he had previously served as CFO.
Dave earned his BS in Accounting from Millikin University and an Executive Graduate Certificate in healthcare financial management from University of South Carolina-Columbia.
Amy Sullivan is the Executive Director of St. Louis Physician Alliance and SLPA ACO responsible for the strategy and overall management of the network. This includes leading process, compliance and performance initiatives among multiple ongoing projects and workstreams to support 600+ providers and ~18,000 Medicare beneficiaries in the St. Louis area. Amy earned her MBA from the Olin Business School of Washington University in St. Louis and graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Kappa Phi from the University of Maryland European Campus with a bachelor’s degree in business communication. Amy holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) credential and volunteers in support of veteran’s services as a member of the St. Louis Leadership Committee for The Mission Continues.
Lisa Hunt serves as the Director of Operations & Provider Relations for the St. Louis Physician Alliance (SLPA) and SLPA ACO. She helped launch the physician network with her employer, United Surgical Partners (USPI), in 2013 and served as the Director of Network Development growing the physician membership from its original 12 doctors to the current 660+. Lisa has more than two decades of healthcare experience in marketing, provider services and customer relations for academic medical centers, community hospitals, physician practices and ambulance services. Lisa graduated summa cum laude from the University of Missouri-Columbia and has been certified by HIMSS and by AHIMA in Healthcare Technology.
Ellen Rader is the Program Manager for the St. Louis Physician Alliance and SLPA ACO. She is responsible for the implementation and management of a wide variety of projects to support the mission to effectively reduce spending waste in the healthcare system and improve the quality of care for patients.
Ellen earned her MSHA from Lindenwood University and graduated magna cum laude and Alpha Sigma Lambda from Lindenwood University with a Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare management. She was the recipient of the Bertha Floyd Lifelong Learning Award which recognizes high scholarship and the zealous pursuit of leadership and community service. Ellen has over twenty years of experience working in the healthcare industry in various roles. Ellen spends her free time playing volleyball and volunteering throughout the community: reading to elders at nursing facilities, assisting adults pursuing their GED through an Adult Education and Literacy program, and numerous other activities throughout the community.
Rodney Farrar is the Implementation Specialist for SLPA ACO, LLC. He is responsible for leading technical projects that include data integration, clinical workflow analysis, physician education, and financial data analysis.
Rod brings 17 years of experience with data integration and enterprise systems implementation in the healthcare industry, and served as a senior consultant to several large healthcare systems across the country. He received his undergraduate degree in computer science and mathematics from Northeastern State University. Rod recently retired as a Major in the Army National Guard after 27 years of service.
